The Dr. Peter Breggin Hour – 08.07.19

Scientist Thomas Moore joins me to talk about psychiatric drugs both in a very general way about why they do so little good and so much harm, and in very specific ways about drugs that affect the neurotransmitter GABA including Ambien, Sonata, and Lunesta, as well as Lyrica and Neurontin and all the benzodiazepines. Find out if there is such a thing as sleep driving and sleep sex caused by Ambien and similar drugs. If you or a loved one are taking these sedative drugs for sleep or anxiety or other purposes, this discussion may provide you information that you can usefully pursue further. A valuable hour!

Hi Dr Peter and Dr Moore a very interesting programme once again. Ive been on Haldol injections for years and lately had it reduced. When i am ill i suffer greatly from insomnia and without the drug in my system this is greatly enhanced. i have to consider insomnia when ill or the long term use of the drug and the sleep fog which comes with it. Do i have a quality of life as apart from weight gain i suffer no other side affects? id say i have a quality of life although i am not an active person. When ill i need something strong to knock me out and i enjoy having regular sleep when well. I consider myself to be one of the lucky people. Thank you for your wonderful programmes.
